This Is How Much Meghan Markle Has Reportedly Spent on Her Wardrobe Since Her Engagement

With new Givenchy numbers making frequent appearances in Meghan Markle's wardrobe (including her classic wedding dress), it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that the Duchess of Sussex is willing to splurge in the clothing department. However, the exact estimate of her apparel is… staggering, to say the least.

After adding up the estimated or retail prices for all of Meghan's attire since her engagement to Prince Harry was announced last November, the Toronto Star reports that the former actress has spent about $1.5 million on clothing within the past nine months. Let THAT sink in for a moment-closet goals.

This unfathomable total does include both of the recent bride's wedding gowns-Meghan's Givenchy frock from the ceremony is estimated to cost $340,000 alone. Exact replicas of the high-neck Stella McCartney gown she wore to the wedding reception sold to the public for $4,600, but Elle U.K. reports that the original white number is believed to cost around ВЈ119,555 (about $153,700).

Shall we also remind you of of the Duchess of Sussex's shimmery (and slightly controversial) Ralph & Russo gown from her engagement photo shoot with Prince Harry last December? Yep, that one reportedly set her back a whopping $75,000.

While Meghan has been known to shop at more affordable retailers, like Club Monaco and Aritzia, the newly minted royal has been pulling out all the stops during her slew of recent royal appearances. Exhibit A: the 37-year old's Carolina Herrera light pink, off-the-shoulder dress from Trooping the Colour is worth an approximated $3,900, and the floral Oscar de la Renta frock she donned to Harry's cousin's wedding came in hot at $5,490. Dare we go on?

We know what you're all thinking-who on Earth foots the bill for Meghan's lavish clothing purchases? According to royal expert Katie Nicholl via Entertainment Tonight, her father-in-law. "It does fall now, that she is married into the royal family, to the Prince of Wales… to cover the cost of her working royal wardrobe," said Nicholl. "Meghan is now an ambassador for the royal family. Look at the publicity she has brought in run up to the wedding. I'd argue that's worth every penny."
